Outfit Ideas for Late Winter & Early Spring
We all need a little outfit inspo from time to time. With the cold weather nearing an end soon and the spring blooms on the Horizon, I thought I’d share a few wardrobe staples that can help you transition from season to season flawlessly!
Personality #1: The Casual Cutie
Our late winter / early spring casual cutie girl is fun but functional. Key items that suit this personality include denim (all washes of course), fun slouchy sweaters, long sleeve knits, and stylish boots (a slim Chelsea boot is one of my faves!). As far as accessories go I’d keep them minimal, adding to the outfit through texture and form rather than loud prints or colors. Keep it simple and classy, then throw in just a pinch of personality. This personality fits me most for sure! I love a good long sleeve turtleneck and straight leg jeans that fit just right. If you’re the type of girl who loves to be cute but you enjoy being comfortable as well, then you definitely want to make sure to have these staples in your closet!
Personality #2: The One-Piece Wonder
One-Piece Wonder woman is the type of girl who LOVES a throw on and go. Honestly, I think all of us are this woman at some point or another. I mean who doesn’t love an outfit that’s cute, chic, and simple all while not costing you too much in the department of brain space? For the woman who loves avoiding decision fatigue, I recommend having these key staples in your wardrobe: a jumpsuit (materials like denim, corduroy, or cotton work well during this time of year), a nice dress, dungarees or pinafore dresses, and a few simple crop tops as layering pieces (long or short sleeves suffice). For shoes I’d recommend a cute penny loafer or even an understated white sneaker —the basics. This way you can dress your look up or down. Finally, I’d recommend a slightly fancier bag, as it will give you a little extra oomph! Feel free to experiment with fun colors since one-piece wonder outfits are naturally more plain.
Personality #3: Doting Tina
The last personality is Doting Tina! Doting Tina is a true girl’s girl. Traditionally feminine silhouettes and colors are key for this personality. A-line skirts and dresses, soft flared pants, and flowy jackets like a trench or duster are beautiful staples for this look. Soft peaches, baby pinks, light blues, white, and yellow are colors that help anchor the feeling of spring on the verge. Neutrals like beige and brown can sill be incorporated to emphasize the transitional nature of this time of year. To accessorize, use bags that make a subtle statement—something with delicate detailing and a classic shape. Smaller bags are better than larger bags for this personality. To give the look a more casual down earth look, consider a neutral slide on shoe or even a duck boot. To dress up the look, an off-white simple sneaker or low platform bootie will give you what you’re looking for!
